International Development
Operational Statement
With respect to International Development, the role of Edmund Rice Foundation(Australia) is to:
- provide financial support for development projects in the Africa and Oceania Provinces of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, that are within the guidelines of the Overseas Aid Gift Deductibility Scheme (OAGDS) of the Australian Government, which offers the tax deductions that attract the majority of the funds that the Foundation raises;
- work with its in-country partners to develop standards of documented accountability, for the projects it supports, that are appropriate for an international development agency and meet OAGDS and AusAID’s mandatory requirements for the management of development funds;
- assist the Africa and Oceania development projects it supports to achieve long-term financial and program sustainability.
