The 2016 Edmund Rice Annual Gala Dinner took place at the Royal International Convention Centre on Friday evening 4 November.
Around 600 guests attended to support the work of the Edmund Rice Foundation in providing sustainable health and education programs to developing countries as well as programs for disadvantaged people within Australia.
Guests were treated to a cultural experience with African drumming, a Maasai Warrior, country themed lanterns and a Kenyan and East Timorese themed menu. The evening was hosted by the Queensland Chapter Chair and Executive Director of CV Services Group, Ed Phelan, and attended by some of Brisbane’s key business people, Edmund Rice school representatives and Foundation supporters.
Marilyn Trad, a former Edmund Rice Foundation “Gone Fishing” immersion participant provided a moving keynote address sharing her experience of meeting the people supported by the Foundation’s programs in Kenya.
