Into the Heart is designed for school leaders, teachers, and school support staff. It is quite simply, an opportunity for participants to visit the projects we are passionately supporting, and the remarkable people we are walking with.
Participants will experience direct contact with the recipients of the generosity that flows from their EREA school communities. It is our aim that Edmund Rice identity and charism, will be at the heart of this visit, along with a greater understanding of sustainable development in action.

Expect a jam-packed itinerary. But, we haven’t forgotten fun and downtime!
There will be multiple opportunities to enjoy Kenya’s world-famous coffee and shop for special mementos. Many of the programs we visit offer beautiful, handcrafted homewares and fashion items that we encourage you to purchase, as the profits directly support the programs. Beyond our programs, we will visit some bespoke markets and hand-crafted social enterprises in both Kenya and Uganda.
The estimated cost for this immersion is $5000-$5500. In addition, you will need to book your own flights.
This cost includes most meals, accommodation, travel insurance, a safari experience and local guides.

In rural western Kenya, classrooms are overcrowded, teachers are untrained and under-supported, and children are leaving school unable to read, leaving them disadvantaged for life.

With improved teacher training, better literacy support and safer classrooms, children can gain the foundational skills they need to succeed at school and beyond.
