About

In Kibera, many women and young mothers have the skills and determination to earn an income, but lack access to safe employment, start-up capital, and markets. Without opportunity, families face daily hardship and depend on unstable work.

Tailored by Hope led by Mirror of Hope CBO, is changing this. It’s a community-driven social enterprise creating dignified employment for women while generating income to fund community education and empowerment programs.

In the pilot year, the project will:

  • > Convert two shipping containers into a tailoring production unit
  • > Provide training and paid work for 32 women
  • > Test commercial viability with a clear business plan and three-year forecast

Beyond employment, Tailored by Hope aims to reduce reliance on donor funding by building a sustainable, income generating enterprise that supports long-term community projects.

Your support helps women in Kibera move from vulnerability to independence—while investing in a model designed for lasting impact and sustainability.
