In rural Uganda, St Joseph’s Kensekka Vocational Secondary School and eleven surrounding villages rely on a single man-made dam for all their water needs. It’s untreated, unsafe, and unreliable — and it’s putting more than 51,000 people at risk.
This Christmas, you can help bring safe, clean water to an entire community.
Right now:
Communities are drinking contaminated water that spreads diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, and cholera.
Girls miss school because there are no safe, private sanitation facilities.
Teachers and students fall sick, leading to poor attendance and interrupted learning.
Families walk long distances each day just to collect water that still isn’t safe.

Clean water will change everything — improving health, restoring dignity, and giving this community the chance to learn and thrive.

A deeper, safer community dam
Water security throughout the year.
An electric pump and filtration system
Clean, safe drinking water for the school and surrounding villages.
A new biodigester toilet block
Six toilets, four bathrooms, and hand-washing stations.
Hygiene and sanitation training
Empowering families with lifelong healthy practices.
Safe, private spaces for girls
Helping them stay healthy, confident, and in school.
This three-year WASH project will directly benefit over 500 students, 30 staff, and 51,766 community residents.
By giving clean water, you’re not just solving today’s problems — you’re transforming a community for generations. Safe water allows students to stay healthy, attend school, and build brighter futures.

Seeking to break the cycle, the community of Kensekka requested access to quality vocational education and skills development for its youth. St Joseph’s Kensekka Vocational Secondary School emerged as the solution.
From the outset, the project faced immense challenges as the school lacked basic infrastructure. Connecting power, water pumps and installing security bars were significant milestones for creating a safe and conducive learning environment.
With some of these foundational steps complete, electric sewing machines, computers, and a science laboratory can be introduced to provide new learning opportunities.
