On 30 September, a powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Cebu and the wider Visayas region — the strongest and deadliest quake in a generation. In the midst of devastation and hundreds of aftershocks, Edmund Rice Ministries Foundation Philippines Inc. (ERMFPI) in the Philippines immediately began responding, distributing emergency food packs and essential supplies to affected families.

ERMFPI is working alongside local parishes and community groups to deliver vital assistance— food, water, shelter materials, and psychological first aid for children and families. They will be travelling to the towns and communities of Northern Cebu — the area most severely affected by the earthquake and aftershocks — from October 18.

Your support will help sustain and expand this coordinated emergency response to reach more communities in need.

This emergency appeal will remain open until mid-November, with all funds directed to Edmund Rice Ministries Foundation Philippines Inc. (ERMFPI) to support their on-the-ground response.

1 in 3 children in Western Kenya cannot read a single word.

As we head towards the end of the financial year, your gift can help children learn, read and thrive.

In rural western Kenya, classrooms are overcrowded, teachers are untrained and under-supported, and children are leaving school unable to read, leaving them disadvantaged for life.

But, with your help, this can change.

With improved teacher training, better literacy support and safer classrooms, children can gain the foundational skills they need to succeed at school and beyond.

Your support this tax time will help train teachers, strengthen schools and help thousands of children learn to read with confidence.
