In these times of great uncertainty the world’s most vulnerable need us more than ever. We know that many of the people who we walk with are at a disadvantage. Many are without access to education and health services. This pandemic will challenge our vulnerable communities more than they have ever been challenged.

Through our work, Edmund Rice Foundation constantly witnesses these people demonstrate compassion, kindness and generosity to those around them, even though each day is a battle waged for survival. These people continually demonstrate a sense of spirit, community and inspiring resilience. Please keep our vulnerable communities in your thoughts and prayers. They need our support.

Our commitment at Edmund Rice Foundation is to work harder than ever before to ensure our programs can sustain the life-changing opportunities and services they provide.

We also know that many of our friends and supporters will not escape this situation unscathed and we are also here if you need us. In times like these the spirit of community has never been more significant.

1 in 3 children in Western Kenya cannot read a single word.

As we head towards the end of the financial year, your gift can help children learn, read and thrive.

In rural western Kenya, classrooms are overcrowded, teachers are untrained and under-supported, and children are leaving school unable to read, leaving them disadvantaged for life.

But, with your help, this can change.

With improved teacher training, better literacy support and safer classrooms, children can gain the foundational skills they need to succeed at school and beyond.

Your support this tax time will help train teachers, strengthen schools and help thousands of children learn to read with confidence.
