Welcoming our new Board Chair – Geff Doyle

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Geoff Doyle as the new Chair of the Board of Directors for Edmund Rice Foundation. As Chair, Geoff Doyle will lead our Board in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction and upholding the values that drive our mission.

Geoff holds deep ties with the Edmund Rice community and brings a wealth of experience in mission-driven leadership, financial management, and governance. Geoff is a proud graduate of St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace. His earlier career includes two decades in chartered accounting and a leadership role as General Manager for the Christian Brothers in Queensland, overseeing operations in the Northern Territory and East Timor. He served as National Director – Stewardship for Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) from its inception in 2007 until his retirement in 2020. In that role, Geoff was instrumental in shaping the financial and accountability frameworks that underpin EREA today.

Geoff has already played a vital role within Edmund Rice Foundation, serving as a Board Member and on the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee. He also contributes his expertise as a Board Member with Edmund Rice Community Services.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Paul Gallagher, who has served as Board Chair for the past eight years. Under Paul’s leadership, Edmund Rice Foundation has grown its impact significantly—expanding programs, deepening partnerships, and strengthening operational strategies. We are grateful for Paul’s vision and commitment, and we’re pleased he will continue to serve on the Board.

Please join us in welcoming Geoff and thanking Paul for his extraordinary service.

1 in 3 children in Western Kenya cannot read a single word.

As we head towards the end of the financial year, your gift can help children learn, read and thrive.

In rural western Kenya, classrooms are overcrowded, teachers are untrained and under-supported, and children are leaving school unable to read, leaving them disadvantaged for life.

But, with your help, this can change.

With improved teacher training, better literacy support and safer classrooms, children can gain the foundational skills they need to succeed at school and beyond.

Your support this tax time will help train teachers, strengthen schools and help thousands of children learn to read with confidence.
