The situation

Without new ways to fund education at Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre (ERCEC), classrooms are fully dependent on donor funds.

Our Response

Edmund Rice Dairies is a modern dairy unit with production and processing facilities, biogas for fuel, and a café. The Dairy generates income for the school while delivering training in agriculture and sustainable farming.

About

The Growing Strong Dairy Project is more than a farm; it’s a lifeline for education.

To keep Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre sustainable, we built a modern dairy unit that does two things:

  1. 1. generates income for the school and
  2. 2. trains students and the community in real-world agricultural skills.

Today, the dairy has 34 cows and produces:

  • > Fresh milk and dairy products
  • > Biogas for clean energy
  • > Training for students and local farmers

Profits go straight back into school programs, strengthening education for hundreds of children.

The on-site café connects the project to the community, boosting visibility and sales.

Partnerships with local farms and technical colleges ensure quality milk supply and hands-on training aligned with Kenya’s curriculum.

With your support, this project will keep classrooms open, and future bright.
