Project Update:

Savings and Internal Lending

Nairobi, Kenya

  • Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC)

In Kibera, families work hard but have no access to banking or credit. Without savings or business skills, they remain trapped in poverty with no safety net.

Overall impact

  • – 150 women trained in business skills
  • – 144 women led businesses
  • – 59% increase in household income

Women’s Empowerment and SILC (Savings and Internal Lendings Community) project in Kenya receives support from the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).

Looking Ahead

Your partnership is helping transform the community of Kibera — through practical skills, sustainable livelihoods, and improved economic empowerment.

By supporting this project, you’re helping women gain opportunities for dignified work and contributing to a healthier, resilient community for generations.

We're proud to partner with Mirror of Hope C.B.O and @DFAT to tackle issues of systemic unemployment and create brighter futures for women.
