In Mukuru, young people and women want to work. But, without training or opportunity, they remain stuck in poverty with no way forward.
Vocational training in tailoring, beauty and hairdressing, hospitality, weaving, digital literacy, and urban agriculture paired with mentoring, counselling, job placement, and start-up kits.

In Mukuru, high unemployment and poverty leave many young people and women without ways to earn a living. Without training or support, motivated individuals struggle to turn skills into income.
Vocational training at the Ruben Centre, gives youth and women practical, market-driven skills linked to real employment and enterprise opportunities.
Participants learn tailoring, beauty, hospitality, weaving, digital literacy and innovative urban agriculture, including circular gardening and insect farming. There is inclusive skills training for persons living with disabilities
Training is paired with mentorship, psychosocial support, and job placement. Graduates receive start-up kits to launch a small business or transition into employment. Production and sales initiatives allow participants to earn income while learning, building confidence and financial independence.
