In the first quarter of 2026, Eddie’s Cafe has evolved from a simple dairy outlet into a vital community hub.
To keep Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre sustainable, we built a modern dairy unit to generate income for the school and provide training in real-world agricultural skills. In addition, the on-site café, affectionately named Eddie’s, connects the project to the community, boosting visibility and sales.
Since its opening in July 2025, Eddie’s Cafe has evolved from a simple dairy outlet into a vital community hub. The most powerful evidence of this is a weekly gathering of women dedicated to health and nutrition. The group, known as Grass International, meets to connect and discuss the importance of health and nutrition.
Among the group is Teacher Linda*, whose experience captures the essence of what Edmund Rice Dairies and Eddie’s Cafe stands for:
We don’t just come here for the space. We come for the Mala and the fresh yoghurt. As people who deal with health supplements, we know what quality looks like. The milk here is consistent, rich and affordable.
Teacher Linda

As an educator and member of a health-centric organisation, Linda understands that nutrition is the foundation of a healthy and productive life.

The dairy and cafe address immediate needs and long-term growth by generating sustainable income for Edmund Rice Catholic Education Centre and providing vocational training opportunities. Its success will reduce dependency on external donors, create employment opportunities, and pave the way for a self-sustaining educational institution for Embubul.
With your support, this project is keeping classrooms open and the future bright.
